Glory Lane by Alan Dean Foster
It’s fantastic. If you can get your hands on a copy, you’ll probably read most of it all in one sitting. I did.
I don’t know that I’d agree they’re the MOST beautiful, but most of them certainly are fantastic.

Confession: I think that aged hands, thinning, with veins, tendons, and bones shapely and visible, are one of the most beautiful sights to behold on this planet.
My hands are naturally chubby and child-like, and I’m seeing them slowly thin just a little from weight loss and more from age recently; they’re beginning to look more like my mother’s hands every day, and I’m absolutely ecstatic about the fact.
I pay attention to hands and feet, on everyone, actually. Have for as far back as I can remember. I’m a huge fan of hand-holding, too.
